Paris, one of the most elegant and beautiful cities in the world, is among my favorite to visit. As my wife and I stroll along the lavish corridors of the city, we realize that we follow in the footsteps of some of the world’s greatest artists, writers, and philosophers.

We find a cozy outdoor café along the great Seine River from which we watch as boats traverse along the river and underneath the magnificent Pont Alexandre III Bridge, and disappearing into the sunset to destinations unknown. As I sit in wonder and awe at the spectacular brilliance before me, I close my eyes and revel in the relaxing warm embrace of the sun. In this moment I can hear the water splashing up against the banks and the sound of people walking along the river perusing shops and boat cafés along the Seine.

As I place this memory among my most cherished, I cannot help but feel the necessity to share it with the world, a time of great “Paris Memories.” — Robert Finale

Perfectly nestled along the Savannah River bank is one of my favorite places in the world, River Street. It possesses a charm and beauty that is hard to mimic. Quaint antique shops and restaurants line the cobblestone filled streets which hold enough to fill an adventure filled day with beauty and wonderment. My family often enjoys a day here on the Georgia Queen Riverboat.

Once the sun sets, we find our favorite restaurant to end an awe inspiring day in Savannah. I always feel an overwhelming sense of inspiration as I gaze into the sunset and watch as the riverboats paddle majestically across the water, as the old street car makes its way down the cobblestone streets. This scene paints a perfect picture of old southern charm. — Robert Finale

As the lights brighten up the plaza, one would be stunned that the day was already over. The great tree, in all its magnificence, sheds light on the young and old alike as they enjoy the final moments of the night. I stand, as if paralyzed, amazed at the magnitude of the spectacle in front of me.

The sounds of the city, the thousands of bright lights, and the thousands of people surrounding gives the majestic impression that the city never sleeps. I think of how amazing it is that everyone, no matter race or age, can come together for this beautiful sight and enjoy the Holidays in New York. — Robert Finale

Paris is the birthplace of Impressionism, one of the most celebrated art styles in the world. As such, I felt it only right to visit this famous place during such a special time as Christmas to learn from great artists of the past and to witness their inspirations. During this time, Christmas in Paris took shape.

Christmas in Paris, is a painting which takes me back to the turn of the century in Paris, France. There is no time more special than Christmas time in the City of Lights. As I gaze at the canvas, I can hear the sound of the horse and carriages making their way through the snow filled streets of Paris. In the distance, the sound of bells chiming from the twin towers of the famous Notre Dame Cathedral can be heard throughout the city. As I wander down the corridors of the city, I can smell the cafes brewing fresh coffee and hot chocolate for the day ahead. It gives off a warmth which can even be felt from outside, therefore I decide to seat myself near a window to ward off the cold and watch the people rushing by to get their last few gifts for family and friends. I cannot imagine a more perfect setting to a Christmas in Paris.

I dedicate Christmas in Paris to some of my favorites; Edouard Cortes, Eugene Galien-Laloue, and Antoine Blanchard. — Robert Finale

Dating back to the 1860’s, traveling musicians performed on Beale Street to traders and merchants moving and selling their goods along the Mississippi River. As I walked this famed Memphis cobblestone street and the sun began to set, the night began to come to life.

The neon lights started to glow, the smell of barbeque filled the air, and music began to spill into the street. I could hear the influence of legendary blues musicians like WC Handy, Louis Armstrong, Muddy Waters, Memphis Minnie, and BB King.

With the blending of gospel, jazz, and Mississippi Delta Blues a unique style of music was born on Beale St. that continues to influence musicians around the world today. I left Memphis knowing that Beale Street is the Home of the Blues and the Birthplace of Rock-n-Roll. — Robert Finale

When visiting Italy with my wife, the Vatican was an important necessity to witness. Over time, many people we have met could not praise their escapades to Italy without mentioning the magnificent views the Vatican had to offer.

My wife and I were clueless at just how right they were. As we crossed the bridge over the Tiber River, the warm glow of St. Peter’s Dome grew more brilliant as the sky dimmed to darkness.

About the Artist:   Robert Finale
The powerful and captivating works of the artist, Robert Finale, flow naturally from a deep-rooted passion and God given talent for capturing the intrinsic beauty in humankind and nature. Finale’s work on canvas is heartwarming and peacefully enchanting. His distinctive style is a colorful blend of impressionistic romance and realistic beauty, mostly in historic settings.

His paintings transport you to a time and place of private charm, a haven of pure and quiet delight. Robert loves to explore the complex interplay of light and its effects on architecture and surroundings. An avid traveler, Robert Finale uses his photographs, sketches and memories simply as the starting point, an inspiration on the journey to the creation of each masterpiece.

The artist, Robert Finale, is no stranger to struggles and adversity. At the tender age of two, he along with his family fled the communist ruled country of Cuba for a life of freedom and opportunity in the United States. Here Robert learned the value of hard work and discipline and realized his potential to pursue his passion for art. This passion, Finale explains, began very early in life.

As a young boy of five, Robert Finale was seldom without a pencil and sketchpad in hand, sketching everything from movie scenes to family vacation destinations. Robert's love for brushing oil onto canvas came much later, when his early childhood sketch were brought to life in a special gift to his wife. From humble beginnings, today his paintings grace several Galleries all over the world. The first, however, has a special place in his family home.

Robert Finale's images originate from his childhood sketches, which his mother always lovingly treasured and encouraged him to keep. Each painting is a journey of unspoken words and hidden whispers of freedom, nurturing the hopes and dreams that exist within all of us. These feelings are resurfaced and unveiled through beautiful city images in romantic surroundings placing the viewer in the dream world of unconscious thought.

A quiet, gentle natured man, Robert Finale uses his paintings to communicate with each individual person. Using rich colors and textures, Finale has developed his own rich vocabulary in a painting. Expressing this rich language through places and entities allows him to tap into his own world and the fragile emotions that exist within all of us. The emotion that a person feels upon examining a piece of art is the beauty of this communication. As Robert places the final brush stroke on the canvas he is conscious of the fact that art is a universal language. Therefore, one canvas represents the window to millions of different emotions that have existed and exist through all of us, giving the viewer a powerful, tool to look within his own world, for the understanding of life’s journey.

We invite you to experience the pure delight and charismatic charm of Robert Finale’s paintings. As you tour the gallery of fine work, may your spirit soar and your soul be transported to a haven of peace and tranquility. Robert’s works are an inspiration to all who have dreamed the impossible dream. Enjoy!
