Memphis Lights pays tribute to the famous bridge between West Memphis, AR. & Memphis, TN. Memphians refer to it as the Memphis “M” bridge, due to its distinctive shape. Its official name is the “Hernando de Soto Bridge, named after the 16th-century Spanish explorer, who explored this stretch of the Mississippi River and died just south of Memphis. It serves as a welcoming landmark entry into the city of Memphis.
