The phenomenal appeal of Thomas Kinkade art is fairly easy to understand. Thom has the rare ability to create wonderful new worlds that touch the soul of the viewer with their comforting familiarity. The New Release section features paintings that have been published over the past 18 to 24 months. |
Thomas Kinkade is one of the greatest contemporary masters of traditional oil painting techniques. If you ever have the opportunity to examine a Kinkade original, you will see layer upon layer of carefully modulated pigment. Every stroke of his brush has been expertly placed on the canvas, each building one upon another until the masterpiece has been completed. Despite the illusion of realism that so many of his paintings display, Thomas Kinkade often idealizes his subject by enhancing a setting that is already beautiful by adding an element from his imagination. In this way, his paintings do more than reflect "what is" by showing us "what could be."
The Studio release section features the most popular highly detailed paintings currently available through Thom's publishing company. If you are looking for a specific image not found on our "Online Gallery", please feel free to call (1-901-257-1212)
or email us. |
Painting "en plein air" is a method of painting based on setting up a portable easel outside and capturing the surrounding scenery before the light changes. Brushstrokes are bold and color is intense giving the finished piece an impressionistic look. As a longtime traveler, Kinkade has had the opportunity to capture the splendor of many breathtaking vistas with this impressionistic technique. This collection of Limited Edition works is a beautiful ensemble of his Plein Air paintings. |
One of the best kept secrets of the art world for almost twenty years is that Thomas Kinkade painted a beautiful body of work over a six year period, from 1984 to 1990, under a brush name, ‘Robert Girrard'. It is believed that Kinkade's ‘Girrard' body of work numbers no more than 70 paintings and two pencil drawings. The rarity and individuality of these works, together with their subtle beauty and turn of the century charm, distinguish them from other segments of Thomas Kinkade's work.

As collectors of Thomas Kinkade works know, many of Thom's limited edition paintings "sell out" each year and are no longer available from the publishing company. This section features hard to find paintings we have available. These works are either completely "sold out" from the publisher, or "sold out" in the size and/or edition featured. If you are looking for a particular painting no longer available from the publisher and not listed in this section, please contact the gallery by phone or email and we will try to locate it for you. |
